Overview
This elegant luxury holiday home on the Amalfi coast was built in the early eighteenth century, according to a very common type with barrel vaults. In ancient times it served as a lookout tower inside the lemon terraces, then, in 1875, the tower was later transformed into a Sacred Chapel to house, until the early 1900s, the statue of a local Madonna. On that occasion some first decorations were made, sometimes still existing. At the beginning of 1920, it was transformed into a residential house. In 2010 important restorations were made to the building: the ‘turret’ with its large wall of about 160 cm, has become a luxury bathroom with original decorations of the era. Adjacent there is a frescoed bedroom in which the original painting of the Madonna located at the time in the Old Chapel stands out on the headboard. The property is situated in a beautiful location, at PEAK on the SEA and in front of the famous natural ‘arch of love’, a very romantic location. To reach the property there are 104 steps to climb from the coastal road. The stairs are characteristic of all the houses of Amalfi that were built on the slopes of the mountain that hugs the sky and the sea. The villa can accommodate up to 10 people and consists of:
1- a LOUNGE with a double sofa-bed, satellite TV, and panoramic balcony/terrace with sea view;
2- a mezzanine floor with a fully equipped kitchen, with a table for 10 people;
3- a double bedroom, with bathroom with shower 120×90, satellite TV, safe, balcony / panoramic terrace with sea view;
4- a double bedroom (on request two single beds), with bathroom with shower 120×80, dressing room, TV sat, mini Frigobar, safe, window overlooking the lemon garden;
5- a particular room of about 30 square meters, obtained in the attic, with a large double bed (210×210) that overlooks an ancient barrel vault of the ‘700, bathroom with shower 100×80, TV, mini Frigobar, safe. Detail of the room are the windows with 13 sea-stunning portholes;
6- a bathroom serving the living room with a vase, sink, and washing machine;
7- with access, independent from the house, through panoramic terrace for exclusive use, a double bedroom (on request two single beds) with French window, with bathroom with shower 80×80, TVsat, mini Frigobar, hot water kettle, safe, panoramic terrace with sitting area.
8- garden lemon/solarium of 200sqm panoramic sea view. From next April 2019 there will be Jacuzzi tubs, a fully equipped GYM area, a solarium with sun loungers, a seating area, and a living room with the possibility to organize small events.
