Aeolian island
Egadi Islands: Egadis includes three principal islands, Favignana (the greatest), Levanzo (the smaller one) and Marettimo and two great rock-clifves, Maraone and Ant. The clear waters and the fascinating coasts, the small reliefs, the bays, the caves, and then the particular tradiotions of the tonnare where sailors still hunt the mediterranen tuna (one of the few survivors in Sicily), makes some Egadis one appreciated tourist and bathing destination.
Island of Pantelleria: Bent el Riah - "daughter of the wind" - as the Arabic merchants called it. It is an island full of wealths, dominated by the grandeur of the nature: beauty, history, rests of ancient civilizations ... Island of Ustica: It has been populated since 1500 B.C. from the Phoenician ones. In ancient Greece the island had called Osteodes (ossario), in memory of the thousand of Carthaginian mutineers left on the island to starve in the IV century B.C.
